Led by Leon Krier, this is a design for an urban extension to the west of Malton, North Yorkshire, of five hundred houses forming a new suburb to the town.
The development is designed along traditional urbanistic principles, forming communities of streets, squares, and open space – familiar to the landscape and settlement patterns of North Yorkshire. The village centre introduces a village hall, shop, and pub that will be the focal point for the new settlement.
