Stable conversion: Talbot Yard, Malton

Talbot Yard, Malton

A current project converting disused stables previously used by the adjacent Talbot hotel.

Stable conversion: The buildings are to be preserved and converted to form a set of small manufacturing facilities to be associated with local speciality food production.

The Yard is accessed by a striking gateway known as the ‘Vanbrugh Arch’ and there is a reasonable possibility that it was designed by the baroque architect Sir John Vanbrugh, while he was engaged in works on the nearby Castle Howard.
