York House is a prominent 17th century town house on the main road into Malton, historically linked to important Malton families and now owned by the Fitzwilliam Estate.
Although previously used as an office over a decade ago, York House was left unoccupied since with no suitable use allocated to it, unbefitting of such an important building. Closely positioned to the Talbot Hotel, it was decided the best use would be to incorporate York House as additional hotel accommodation, specifically, as use for wedding parties. A full scheme was granted planning permission for sensitive refurbishment of York House itself, along with a basement and ground floor link connection building. In the interim, however, York House has been renovated and a marquee erected in the gardens.
